I am experienced and can guide you through the process of expunging your misdemeanor or felony criminal record. The process involves several steps and entails certain limitations which may or may not apply to your case depending on your unique set of circumstances. Several judicial departments are involved in the process, including:
- The Judicial Records Center
- The Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Identification Unit (BC)
- The court where the conviction took place
- The arresting police department
- The court clerk’s office
- The Probation Department (in some cases)
- The judge who finally grants the expungement
An experienced attorney can help you file your motion and then see your petition through the proper channels. Simply filing a motion does not guarantee that your expungement will occur. Proceedings can get complicated and oftentimes multiple court hearings may be necessary. In addition, there is often opposition from the District Attorney, requiring a skilled response on your behalf.
I have experience and have successfully argued many expungement cases. Whether it’s explaining your case before a judge, conducting the necessary research, or responding to written and oral opposition, I will put my experience to work, fighting to clear your record.
